# Promptarr

> Promptarr is a self-hosted AI for the *arr stack. It watches every Sonarr and Radarr grab, checks it against rules you write in plain English, and swaps a bad release for a better one while the download is still running. It also gives any MCP client one server for the whole media stack. A LunarWerx product.

## Key facts

- Status: pre-release. The container image ghcr.io/lunarwerx/promptarr:latest is not public yet (checked anonymously on 2026-11-04); early access is on Discord: https://lunarwerx.com/discord/promptarr
- Judging: check, search, ask, swap. Code checks each grab against a checklist built from your rules; only what code cannot settle goes to the AI.
- Watch mode does everything except the swap and logs what it would have done. Dry runs judge past grabs again and change nothing.
- Services: Radarr, Sonarr, Prowlarr, Bazarr, Jellyfin, Plex, Seerr, SABnzbd, NZBGet, Transmission, qBittorrent, Profilarr, Cleanuparr. 39 MCP tools.
- AI: bring your own key (Gemini, OpenAI-compatible, Anthropic, local Ollama) or sign in with a ChatGPT plan.
- Self-hosted with Docker (compose file) and Unraid (template). Web page on port 6060. MIT licensed.
- Different from Recyclarr, Profilarr and TRaSH Guides: those set quality profiles and custom formats ahead of time; Promptarr judges each grab after it happens, against plain-English rules.
